A 38-year-old Portland man was injured May 6 when the car he was driving collided with another vehicle on I-5 about two miles south of Ridgefield, according to a news release from the Washington State Patrol (WSP).

Luis J. Guzman was treated at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver and released after the 5:20 p.m. incident, a medical center spokesman said. WSP is considering an alcohol-related charge against Guzman, according to the release.

WSP said Guzman was driving south in his 1999 Mitshubishi Eclipse in the center lane at milepost 12 when he made an unsafe lane change and clipped the front end of a 2010 Toyota Prius being driven south in the right lane by Rick D. Zeeb, 61, of Albany, OR. Guzman’s car swerved onto the right shoulder and rolled onto its top, WSP said.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts and Zeeb was not hurt.
