The Clark County Sheriff’s Office, along with local law enforcement agencies, hosted members of the community at the annual Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony on May 15 in the courtyard of the Clark County Public Service Center in downtown Vancouver.

Across the nation 105 law enforcement officers were killed in line of duty deaths in 2013. The memorial ceremony recognized their sacrifice in service to the community and public safety. All regional law enforcement agencies were represented.

The memorial ceremony included the posting of the colors and a 21 gun salute. Vancouver Police Chief James McElvain provided an address to those assembled. A Portland Police Highland Guard Bagpiper performed.
