Battle Ground resident identified as victim in fatal crash

The Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the two local individuals who died in a motorcycle versus vehicle collision on Northeast  72nd Avenue near the Northeast 101st Street intersection near Vancouver on Dec. 20.

The deceased motorcycle rider was identified as Conner Springer, 21, of Battle Ground. The police report stated Springer was wearing a helmet at the time.

According to the medical examiner’s report, Springer struck the vehicle driven by Brenda Velasquez, 37, of Vancouver, who also died in the crash. 



Witnesses first reported occupants of the vehicle and the motorcycle rider were injured in their 911 call at 6:08 p.m. on Dec. 20, according to a release by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO). First responders with Vancouver Fire Department, AMR and CCSO arrived to find the Velasquez and Springer had both succumbed to their injuries. Several other occupants of the vehicle were transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.

Family members of everyone involved have been notified. 

This case is active pending further investigation by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit. As of Friday, Jan. 5, no updates on the investigation were available.
