In Loving Memory Of Gerald Johnson 1934 ~ 2024

Gerald “Jerry” Johnson passed away April 17, 2024. He was born on Aug. 30, 1934, in Newport, Washington, to Lawrence and Marienne Johnson. 

Lawrence and Marienne moved their family to Amboy, Washington, where Gerald then met his wife, Dorothy Johnson. Gerald and Dorothy were married in March 1958. 

After Gerald served 14 years in the U.S. Marine Corp, Gerald and Dorothy and their children moved back to Amboy. Gerald and Dorothy spent the rest of their lives in Amboy raising their four children, Gay, Chris, Leilani and Kurt. 

Gerald continued to work in the government sector for the U.S. Forest Service, Mount St. Helens Monument, where he retired. Gerald was a loving husband and father with strong Christian values. He loved to volunteer in his community. He was active in the North Clark County Historical Museum, the Amboy Territorial Park and in the Amboy Legionnaires. He was also active at his place of worship, Amboy Church of the Nazarenes. 

Gerald was preceded in death by seven siblings and his wife, Dorothy. Gerald is survived by four children, seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held at Amboy Grange Hall on May 4, 2024 at 1 p.m. A potluck will follow. 

A graveside service with military honors will be held on May 11, 2024 at Venesborg Cemetery at 12 p.m.
