The Clark County Arts Commission is looking for a representative from the Battle Ground area to serve on its board after LaRae Zawodny submitted her resignation effective Oct. 1.
Zawodny, served on the commission since 2016 as the Battle Ground-area representative.
“The city thanks Ms. Zawodny for her service, her advocacy for visual, performing and literary arts, and for her support of local artists,” stated a news release.
The commission’s primary purpose is to promote awareness and support of the arts in the community and local economy by creating “a more visually pleasing environment.” The commission also works to expand the opportunity and accessibility of citizens to experience art in public spaces.
The local area representative is nominated by the Battle Ground City Council. To be considered, email a letter of interest and resume to cityclerk.info@cityofbg.org.
