Property tax exemption specialists from the Clark County Assessor’s office will be available to answer questions and enroll property owners in the county’s property tax relief program at an event later this month in La Center.

“The Tax Exemption Program for senior citizens and people with disabilities can reduce property tax liability for qualifying homeowners,” stated a news release from the county. “Eligibility is based on age or disability, home ownership and residence and income. Participants are not required to repay the taxes and their homes are not subject to property liens.”

Exemption specialists will be on hand from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, March 17 at La Center City Hall at 210 E. Fourth St.

To schedule an appointment at the event, call 564-397-2391 or email taxreduction@clark.wa.gov. Walk-ins also are welcome.

Homeowners interested in attending should bring their photo ID, a federal tax return, W-2 and/or 1099, and any deduction documentation.
