Battle Ground accepting applications for PACE advisory board

The city of Battle Ground is seeking applicants for a vacant position on the Parks and Community Engagement (PACE) Advisory Board.

Applicants must be residents or business owners within Battle Ground’s urban growth boundary, according to a news release.

Board members are volunteers who support city parks and recreation programs by encouraging public interest in events, as well as participate in parks and recreation activities, the release stated. Members are expected to meet monthly.

“Dedicated, enthusiastic community members with an interest in strengthening community connections through parks and recreation programming are encouraged to apply,” stated the release.

PACE makes recommendations to the Battle Ground City Council about public parks, playgrounds and recreational facilities.

One project the board will lead is updating the city’s Parks, Recreation and Open Space Plan in 2022, which will later be reviewed by the council.
