Buck rut underway in Clark County, easy viewing at Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge

Columbian white-tailed deer inhabiting the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge are in the chase to find a mate this time of year.

The wildlife refuge’s auto tour loop at the River S Unit provides easy viewing opportunities through the month of November and into December as bucks chase does around the refuge. On Monday, Nov. 11, multiple bucks could be spotted around the refuge’s auto loop during the evening hours.

When visiting, make sure to drive with caution as the deer dart across the road often.
