Celebration of life for Wilma Johnson: 1937-2022

Posted

A celebration of life for Wilma Johnson will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, 2023, at Layne's Funeral Home, 16 NE Clark Ave., Battle Ground, Washington, 98604.

Our beautiful and vibrant mother went to be with the Lord on Nov. 6 due to an unexpected brain aneurysm. She was 85, born to Gordon and Emma Brownell.

She is survived by her son Robert "Bob" Johnson, daughter Karen Miller (Guy) Miller and three grandchildren: Jason Miller, and Erika and Emily Johnson.

Wilma was married to James R. "Bob" Johnson for 61 years. Bob recently went to be with the Lord on May 31, 2022.

Wilma was born in Donna, Texas, and grew up in Amboy, Washington, graduating from Battle Ground High School in 1955.

Wilma’s family was the center of her world. She was incredibly kind, wise and provided a solid foundation by example. She gave selflessly and with a joyful heart always. Wilma showed her grace and strength after her husband Bob passed as she adjusted to life without him. She received her strength through her family and the Lord’s word, and would start every day with a devotional and prayer time. She enjoyed time with her children and grandchildren and working out in her beautiful yard. We are incredibly blessed to have had such amazing parents.

We are beyond words to our loss, but we know that mom and dad are now together with the Lord Jesus Christ. We are thankful for the salvation that He has promised all of us if we follow Him. It is this promise that will give us strength through our difficult loss. We will miss you mom, but will see you again soon.
