Clark County, Woodland and La Center are accepting applications to fill four positions on the Clark County Arts Commission.

The county seeks an applicant to fill the position for a member of the business community, and another applicant who lives in unincorporated Clark County. Both La Center and Woodland are searching for a person to fill the seats representing their respective jurisdictions, stated a news release.

All of the terms will begin immediately and will consist of a four year term. The commission typically meets at 5:30 p.m. on the first Tuesday of the month on the sixth floor of the Public Service Center, 1300 Franklin St., Vancouver, but the meetings are currently held in a virtual format because of the pandemic.

The Clark County Arts Commission is made up of 11 volunteers.

“Each participating city appoints one member, and the county manager appoints three members representing the arts, arts education and business communities,” stated the release.

The commission advises and collaborates with the Clark County Council and city councils. The commission also reports its accomplishments to the community.

Members advocate for arts in the community at budget hearings, public hearings and other public forums, stated the release.
