Geranium fundraiser sale: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 20. Join the P.E.O. Chapter DY for a sale that will feature hanging baskets and 4-inch pots. The nonprofit organization benefits women’s college scholarships and local charities. Only cash and check will be accepted at the event. It will take place at the Marshall House, 1391 Officer’s Row, Vancouver.

La Center kindergarten registration: Kindergarten registration in La Center for the upcoming school year is now open. Children must turn 5 years old on or before Aug. 31, to enter kindergarten for the 2023-2024 school year. Registration is available online at lacenterschools.org or at the elementary office between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Parents and guardians must bring their child’s immunization record and a copy of their legal birth certificate. People are asked to register their children as early as possible. La Center Elementary School will also host Kindy Cub Nights for incoming students. They will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. on April 20 and May 18. Either night can be attended.  Students and parents will work on activities that will prepare students for school.

Used book sale: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 22. The Friends of the La Center Library will hold a  pop-up book sale in conjunction with the city library’s Earth Day celebration. Fiction, nonfiction, and children’s books will be for sale. The price is $1 for hardback and large paperback books, and 50 cents for small paperback books. The proceeds will benefit library programs for all ages. The sale will be held at the La Center Community Library, at 1411 NE Lockwood Creek Road. Earth Day event: 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 22. The Battle Ground Lions Club will partner with the GFWC of Battle Ground during a park clean up and tree planting event with free children’s activities at Florence Robinson Park at 1901 NW Ninth St. in Battle Ground. Participants should bring work gloves and wear sturdy shoes or boots, especially if the weather is wet. Tools, supplies, water and snacks will be provided. Earth Day tree planting: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 22. Join the Clark Public Utilities StreamTeam during a tree planting event. Space for the event is limited, so register in advance at Eventbrite online at tinyurl.com/2p8pdtdw.

Spring art show and sale: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 22. The Battle Ground Art Alliance will hold its 19th annual spring art show and sale at the Battle Ground Community Center at 912 E. Main St. in Battle Ground. There will be 20 regional artists who will showcase their work along with a lineup of live demonstrations. For more information, go online to bgartalliance.com.

Lilac Days: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily from Saturday, April 22 through Sunday, May 14. The Hulda Klager Lilac Gardens will host Lilac Days in Woodland. The theme this year is “hats from the past” and collections will be on display in the new barn museum and in the historic house. The Klager house will also reopen this year. Guests can sign up at the gardens for tours of the house from 1 to 4 p.m. Photos and memorabilia of Hulda Klager and her family will be on display at the barn museum. There will be a quilt raffle fundraiser as well. The annual plant sale features lilacs and the gift shop will have lilac-themed items available. Admission to Lilac Days is $5 for adults. Children 12 and under can enter for free. The Lilac Gardens are located at 115 S. Pekin Road in Woodland.

Book and Movie: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, April 24. Join the Battle Ground seniors group for its book and a movie club. Informational meeting: 6 p.m. on Monday, April 24. The Clark County Fire District 3 Board of Fire Commissioners will discuss a resolution to place a fire levy lid lift on the Aug. 1 primary election ballot. Charlotte’s Web: 7 p.m. on Friday, April 28, and at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 29. Firm Foundation Christian School will host its high school theater production of Charlotte’s Web. Tickets cost $5 at the door. The performance will be held in the school’s gym at 1919 SW 25th Way in Battle Ground.

NatureScaping sale: 9 a.m. to noon for NatureScaping members and from noon to 4 p.m. for the public on Saturday, April 29. NatureScaping will hold its annual bare root tree, shrubs and perennial sale at the Wildlife Botanical Gardens located at 11000 NE 149th St., Brush Prairie. BGPS plant sale: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 29, and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 30. A variety of annual and perennial bedding and flowering plants, vegetable starts and hanging baskets will be for sale. The items were grown in the greenhouses by students at Battle Ground Public Schools. Students and staff will be on hand. The money from the sale will support the district’s horticulture and FFA programs, and welding teams. CASEE is located at 11104 NE 149th St. in Brush Prairie.

Home and Garden Idea Fair: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 29, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 30. The 30th annual Clark Public Utilities Home and Garden Idea Fair will take place at the Clark County Event Center at the Fairgrounds. There will be more than 200 vendors and exhibitors from around the region. Daughters of the Pioneers meeting: 12:30 p.m. for optional social time, meeting at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 4. Join the Daughters of the Pioneers of Washington Chapter No. 9 as member Pepper Toelle Kim presents her method for organizing information from research on wagon trains.
