Mitochondrial DNA webinar: 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 27. Join the Clark County Genealogical Society for a free webinar, “Wringing Every Drop Out of Mitochondrial DNA,” which will teach people how to obtain information on their family tree through mitochondrial DNA and resources like Geni or WikiTree. Lewis River Rotary Online Auction: Noon on Saturday, April 30, to noon on Sunday, May 1. Join the Lewis River Rotary Foundation during its online auction featuring Mother’s Day items, gardening baskets, wine and golf passes. All proceeds will be allocated to scholarships for high school seniors, Relay for Life, North Clark County Food Bank, Neighbors Helping Neighbors Food Bank, and other charities. Historical speaker series: Doors open at 6 p.m., event starts at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 5Join the Clark County Historical Museum for its 2022 speaker series as they welcome Jim Pestillo, who will present “From Water Wagons to Private Development: A History of Vancouver Water System.” The presentation will explore the history of Vancouver’s water system and how it has evolved. Live music: Doors open at 6:45 p.m., showtime at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 7. The Old Liberty Theater will host Claude Bourbon, who is a renowned guitarist from the United Kingdom who blends jazz, Spanish, Latin, and gypsy styles. Ridgefield Spring Festival: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 7. Join the Ridgefield community for its annual spring festival during its First Saturdays event. There will be a variety of vendors, a craft station, an art show from the Ridgefield Art Association, live music from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. from Kit Garoutte, a Maypole dance at 11:30 a.m., and cake pops at noon. Shred day: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 7. The Battle Ground Lions Club will host a free shredding day at the Albertson’s parking lot, which allows participants to shred up to four grocery bags of documents. Donations will also be accepted to benefit the Lions Club. The Lions Club partnered with Dan’s Tractor and Keller Williams-Gabbert Group LLC for the event. Albertson’s is located at 2108 W. Main St., Battle Ground. 

Battle Ground senior luncheon: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, May 9. Join the Battle Ground seniors for their monthly luncheon. Lunch will be provided by Taco Bell. Thomas Opdahl of Opdahl Chiropractic will be the quarterly speaker. The event is held at the Battle Ground Community Center, 912 E. Main St., Battle Ground. Ridgefield High School Golden Grads Social: 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 15. The Ridgefield High School classes of 1967, 1969 and 1970 will host a Sunday social, which raises funds for scholarships for the class of 2022. Hors d’oeuvres, desserts, coffee and water will be provided. Those who want soda must bring their own. Registration is $20, which will cover food and other expenses. Ridgefield kindergarten enrollment: 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17 at Union Ridge Elementary School and South Ridge Elementary School, and from 5 to 6 p.m. at Wisdom Ridge Academy (for all grade levels K-12). Any child who will be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1 is eligible to enroll. Parents are strongly encouraged to register beforehand. Parents must bring a copy of their child’s immunization record and birth certificate as well. Online enrollment is available at ridgefieldsd.org/page/boundaries-enrollment-transfers. Parents can find out which school their child will go to at gis.clark.wa.gov/gishome/property/index.cfm. Union Ridge Elementary is located at 330 N. Parade of Bands: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 21. Join the Hazel Dell community for the return of the Parade of Bands. The parade will feature dozens of high school marching bands from across the Pacific Northwest, along with floats and equestrian entries. The parade starts at the Clark County Fire District 6 station at 8800 NE Hazel Dell Ave., Vancouver. Miss Teen La Center Scholarship Pageant: 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 23. La Center will hold its annual Miss Teen La Center Scholarship Pageant for girls ages 13 to 18. The event is open to girls from Ridgefield as well. It will be held at the new La Center Middle School, 2001 NE Lockwood Creek Road, La Center. La Center kindergarten registration: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekdays at the La Center Elementary School office, 700 E. Fourth St., or online at lacenterschools.org. Parents are strongly encouraged to register beforehand. Children must turn 5 years old on or before Aug. 31. Parents must bring a copy of their child’s immunization record and birth certificate. Kindy Club Night will also be hosted from 5 to 6 p.m. May 19 in the La Center Elementary School cafeteria. The events help prepare incoming students.

Battle Ground Lions Club: 7 p.m. every second and fourth Thursday of the month at Old Town Burger and Breakfast. Join the Battle Ground Lions Club for fun and volunteer opportunities. Old Town Burger is located at 813 W. Main St., Battle Ground.

Bliss Yoga: 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Fridays in the Woodin Creek Room of the Battle Ground Community Center, 910 E. Main St. Classes will include gentle poses to increase strength, balance, flexibility, relaxation and meditation.
