Daughters of Pioneers meeting: 1130 a.m. for optional lunch at the Puffin Cafe at 14 S. A St. in Washougal, 12:45 p.m. for a special group tour at the Two Rivers Heritage Museum in Washougal on Thursday, April 6. Join the Daughters of the Pioneers of Washington Chapter No. 19 for its meeting. To save time at the cafe, visit its website at www.puffincafe.com to check out the menu. The tour will begin when the group arrives at the museum after lunch. Fees for the museum tour are $4 for seniors 60 and over and $5 for those under 60. Easter egg hunt: 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 8. The Woodland Moose Lodge will sponsor a community Easter egg hunt at Horseshoe Lake Park in Woodland. There will be four age groups: 2 and under, 3 to 5, 6 to 8, and 9 to 11. Three prize baskets will be available per age group. La Center kindergarten registration: Kindergarten registration in La Center for the upcoming school year will open April 10. Children must turn 5 years old on or before Aug. 31 to enter kindergarten for the 2023-2024 school year. Registration is available online at lacenterschools.org or at the elementary office between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Parents and guardians must bring their child’s immunization record and a copy of their legal birth certificate. People are asked to register their children as early as possible. La Center Elementary School will also host Kindy Cub Nights for incoming students. They will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. on April 20 and May 18. Either night can be attended.  Students and parents will work on activities that will prepare students for school.

Lewis River Rotary: 5:45 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11. Join the Lewis River Rotary Club for its meeting at the Battle Ground Community Center at 912 E. Main St. in Battle Ground. GFWC meeting: 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 13. Join the General Federation of Women’s Clubs Battle Ground chapter for its meeting at 14208 NE 249th St., Battle Ground. Attendees will learn more about the Clark County Historical Society. GFWC is an international women’s organization dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service.

Spring Art Show and Sale: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 22. The Battle Ground Art Alliance will hold its 19th annual Spring Art Show and Sale at the Battle Ground Community Center at 912 E. Main St. in Battle Ground. There will be 20 regional artists who will showcase their work along with a lineup of live demonstrations. For more information, go online to bgartalliance.com.

Lilac Days: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily from Saturday, April 22 through Sunday, May 14. The Hulda Klager Lilac Gardens will host Lilac Days in Woodland. The theme this year is “hats from the past” and collections will be on display in the new barn museum and in the historic house. The Klager house will also reopen this year. Guests can sign up at the gardens for tours of the house from 1 to 4 p.m. Photos and memorabilia of Hulda Klager and her family will be on display at the barn museum. There will be a quilt raffle fundraiser as well. The annual plant sale features lilacs and the gift shop will have lilac-themed items available. Admission to Lilac Days is $5 for adults. Children 12 and under can enter for free. The Lilac Gardens are located at 115 S. Pekin Road in Woodland.

Book and Movie: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, April 24. Join the Battle Ground seniors group for its book and a movie club. Hockinson’s Father Daughter Ball: 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, May 6. The seventh annual Hockinson’s Father Daughter Ball will take place at the Cloverlane Event Center at 16391 NE 182nd Ave., Brush Prairie. Father-daughter duos of all ages are invited for a night of dancing, crafts and appetizers. The theme for this year’s event is “Knights and Princesses.” Only knights need to buy a ticket and they can bring as many princesses as they have. Tickets are all inclusive and include a professional 5x7 photograph, food and activities. The community outreach event is hosted by Elim Lutheran Church. Proceeds will go toward sending Young Life teens to summer camps. Tickets must be purchased in advance on eventbrite.com.
