Gallery of Grandmothers: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27. Join the Clark County Genealogical Society to celebrate its 50th anniversary of the Gallery of Grandmothers, which displays people’s grandmothers and their history in the past and present. Forest fire lookout exhibit: 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27. Join the North Clark Historical Museum as they unveil the forest fire lookout exhibit. Fire lookouts were used in the early 1900s to spot forest fires and relay the information back to dispatchers. The event will feature $1 raffle tickets for a “Wild Flowers” quilt made by Chelatchie Quilters. The museum is open on the second and fourth Saturdays every month from noon to 4 p.m. Tours are available upon request. The museum is located at 21416 NE 399th St., Amboy. Come to Battle Ground Lake State Park as ranger Sage Hoag discusses what makes Clark County special, beginning with how the county got its name from a famous explorer. Snacks will be provided. Firefighter open house: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 10. Join Clark County Fire District 3 at an open house where people can meet their local emergency responders and learn about the fire district. Free hot dogs, chips, soda and water will be provided. Kids can also play in a “squirt house” and receive stickers and helmets as well. It will be held at Station 34 at 24812 NE Rawson Road, Brush Prairie. Pig Jam: 4 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 10. Join the Battle Ground community for a Pig Jam, which will serve a large, roasted barbecue pig while an AC/DC tribute band plays. Food is $29.95, and includes three different plates, each with a quarter pound of meat and a side. Attendees can listen to the band’s performance for free. Southwest Washington Model Railroaders: 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24. Join the Southwest Washington Model Railroaders as they celebrate their 50th year. There will be over 100 tables of railroad items, including models and memorabilia. It will be held at the Battle Ground High School gymnasium, 300 W. Main St., Battle Ground.
