Manufacturing Workforce Summit and grand opening of IT3: From 3:30 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 22. The Manufacturing Workforce Summit will be held at the IT3 Tech Center at 5645 S. 11th St., Suite A104, in Ridgefield. From 3:30 to 3:50 p.m., there will be a Cowlitz Tribal blessing and ribbon-cutting event for the grand opening of IT3, a new workforce training center focused on filling advanced manufacturing technology jobs in Washington state. From 4 to 4:15 p.m., the event will welcome IT3, which is then followed by a “state of the workforce” presentation from 4:15 to 4:30 p.m. From 4:35 to 5:15 p.m., there will be a panel discussion on the manufacturing workforce. GFWC meeting: 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 23. Join the General Foundation of Women’s Club — Battle Ground at 14208 NE 249th St. in Battle Ground to learn from a speaker about the Cedar Creek Grist Mill. GFWC is an international women’s organization dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through community service.

Drama performance: At 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 24, and at 1 and 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25. Prairie High School will perform its production of Xanadu from Music Theatre International. Tickets cost $6 for students, $13 for adults and $11 for honored citizens. Prices at the door will be higher. The performances will take place at Prairie High School, 11311 NE 119th St., Vancouver. Lewis River Rotary: 5:45 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 28. Join the Lewis River Rotary club as Jim Schefers, the owner of Battle Crest Distillery, speaks about the joys and challenges of opening and operating a distillery. It will be held at the Battle Ground Community Center, 912 E. Main St., Battle Ground.

La Center kindergarten registration: Kindergarten registration in La Center for the upcoming school year will open April 10. Children must turn 5 years old on or before Aug. 31, to enter kindergarten for the 2023-2024 school year. Registration is available online at lacenterschools.org or at the elementary office between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Parents and guardians must bring their child’s immunization record and a copy of their legal birth certificate. People are asked to register their children as early as possible. La Center Elementary School will also host Kindy Cub Nights for incoming students. They will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. on April 20 and May 18. Either night can be attended.  Students and parents will work on activities that will prepare students for school.

Daughters of the Pioneers: Bring your own lunch for optional social time at 12:30 p.m, meeting starts at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 2. Join the Daughters of the Pioneers of Washington Chapter No. 19 at the North Clark Historical Museum at 21416 NE 399th St. in Amboy, as the group explores and learns more about the museum. Career fair: 8 a.m. to noon on Thursday, March 30. Woodland Public Schools and the Port of Woodland will host a CareerReady Woodland career fair. Local employers will be able to speak with students at Woodland High School. Businesses are invited to send representatives at no cost to attend the event. Introduction to fly fishing school: 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 22. Join Clark Skamania Flyfishers for an “introduction to fly fishing school.” It will include instruction on the mechanics of fly casting, hands-on casting lessons, knot tying lessons, entomology, safety and other topics related to becoming a competent fly fisher. The event, which will be held at the Vancouver Firefighters Union Hall at 2807 NW Fruit Valley Road in Vancouver, requires registration.
