Ridgefield First Saturdays: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 4 at Ridgefield Overlook Park, 113-131 S. Main Ave. The city of Ridgefield will host its fourth annual multicultural festival to celebrate its diverse community. Activities include performances, crafts, a basketball tournament and market vendors. Tailgate used book sale: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday and Saturday, Sept. 10-11 at the Woodland Community Library, 828 Goerig St., Woodland. Check out an overflow of donated, used books through the Friends of Woodland Community Library’s sale. A variety of genres will be available including mystery, fiction, romance, children and gardening, among others. You can fill one of the group’s bags with books for $8. Battle Ground Art Alliance sale: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 11 at Kiwanis Park, 422 SW Second Ave., Battle Ground. The art alliance will host an outdoor art sale. No kits or mass-produced items will be allowed and the alliance asks for entries to be family-friendly. Member vendors can pay $40 for a 10-by-10 foot space, $50 for non-members and $10 per person for a group tent. Vendors must contact the BGAA by Aug. 15. Experience Ridgefield event: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 11 at the Ridgefield Administrative and Civic Center at 510 Pioneer St., Ridgefield. Families are invited to attend Experience Ridgefield after the event was canceled last year. The community carnival features family-friendly activities like an inflatable bouncy house, miniature golf, face painting and a selfie photo booth. Craft and food vendors will also be in attendance. Ridgefield Oktoberfest: 2 to 10 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 11 at Overlook Park, 113-131 S. Main Ave. Enjoy German-style food, local beers and live music at the annual Ridgefield Oktoberfest. Michael Fischer Oompah Band and Countryside Ride will take the stage and vendors, like Urban German and the Ridgefield Lions Club, will provide Bavarian menu items. Attendees can also watch wiener dog races, a costume contest and other games. Battin’ for Blue Softball Tournament: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 11 at the Ridgefield Outdoor Recreation Complex, 3101 S. Hillhurst Road, Ridgefield. Ten teams will compete in the first Battin’ for Blue Softball Tournament for bragging rights and a trophy. Teams can have a maximum of 15 people each, with at least five of them being female. Brackets will be shared two weeks in advance.

Supper and social: 4 to 9 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 11 at Pomeroy Farm, 20902 Northeast Lucia Falls Road, Yacolt. Pomeroy Living History Farm’s third annual fundraiser dinner will provide tours of the historic grounds, yard games, a silent auction, dinner and drinks. Tickets for the fundraiser cost $75 for individuals or $525 for a table of eight. Tickets include a full course dinner, two drink tokens and access to games. Gun show and sale: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 11 and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 12 at Clark County Event Center at the Fairgrounds. Big Top will display sporting, competition and personal safety items in addition to accessories and training. Admission costs $10 or $5 for military members with an ID. Furry Friends auction: Wednesday through Saturday, Sept. 15-18 online. For the nonprofit’s 13th annual online auction, those interested can bid on items, like a beach getaway valued at $1,050 or a hand-carved white jade cabbage valued at $500. Museum Day: Saturday, Sept. 18 at the Clark County Historical Museum, 1511 Main St., Vancouver. Mental health first aid: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 18 at La Center Evangelical Church, 111 E. Fifth St., La Center. Trainer Curtis Miller, in collaboration with La Center United, will provide young adults mental health and suicide prevention training through the Youth Mental Health First Aid USA program.
