Race for Warmth: Kids race begins at 8:30 a.m. with other events to follow on Sunday, Jan. 29. The ninth annual Race for Warmth timed 10k run and 5k walk/run will raise awareness and funds for Operation Warm Heart, a Clark Public Utilities customer-funded program that helps families in financial crisis pay heating bills. A free race for children ages 3 to 8 years old will kick off the event. Registration is encouraged but not required. The run will start and finish at the Clark Public Utilities downtown location at 1200 Fort Vancouver Way in Vancouver. Registration is $30 and includes a long-sleeve performance shirt and race bag. Pre-registration is recommended and available online through midnight on Jan. 28 at raceforwarmth.com. Same-day registration begins at 7 a.m. and runs until 8:30 a.m. The cost for same-day registration is $40 and there is no guarantee that a shirt and race bag will be included.
