Wreath making workshop: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. or 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 27. Experts will guide two sessions of a wreath making workshop. All materials and refreshments will be provided. Gardening gloves are recommended. The event is sponsored by the Venersborg Historic Preservation Society. It will be held at the Venersborg Schoolhouse, 24309 NE 209th St., in Battle Ground. A night of jazz: 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 28. Join the Battle Ground High School Band Boosters as the school’s award-winning advanced jazz band, jazz combo, intermediate jazz bands and Chief Umtuch Middle School jazz band perform. Refreshments will be offered after the event. The event costs $10 per person or $30 per family. It will be held in the Lair of Battle Ground High School at 300 W. Main St., Battle Ground. 

Lewis River Rotary Club meeting: 7 to 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 29. Join the Lewis River Rotary Club as committees discuss their progress toward their yearly goals. The meeting will take place at the Battle Ground Community Center at 912 E. Main St., Battle Ground. The club meetings are from 7 to 8 a.m. on the first and third Tuesday of the month and from 5:45 to 7 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday. Guests are welcome. Holiday tree lighting celebration: 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 2. Join the Battle Ground community as they celebrate during the annual tree lighting celebration at the Battle Ground Community Center. There will be live music and caroling with the Battle Ground High School choir. Santa Claus will make a grand entrance on a Fire District 3 engine. Santa and Mrs. Claus will also greet children at the center. There will be holiday cookies and hot cocoa as well. Admission is free. The Battle Ground Community Center is located at 912 E. Holiday party and auction: 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 2. Join ilani for the Southwest Washington Contractors Association’s “Old Hollywood” holiday party and auction. Scholarships will be awarded and fundraising will take place for the SWCA’s construction career program. ilani is located at 1 Cowlitz Way, Ridgefield. Winter market: 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 2 and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3. Join the Ridgefield Church of the Nazarene for its winter market, which will feature vendors, food carts, a photo booth and a gift basket raffle. It will be held at 747 Pioneer St., Ridgefield. La Center holiday bazaar: The La Center Music Association will host its holiday bazaar from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3. There will be unique and locally handcrafted items for sale from over 100 vendors. They will include Christmas decorations and gifts, jewelry, various knitted and crocheted items, art, photography, metal and wood crafts, soaps, nuts, jam, honey, and more. Holiday music will be performed by La Center students. Food and treats will be available. The bazaar will take place at La Center Middle School, 2001 NE Lockwood Creek Road. Battle of Lights: Saturday, Dec. 3 to Wednesday, Dec. 21. Join the Battle Ground community for the annual Battle of Lights as residents decorate their homes for the holiday season. A prize will be awarded for the best decorated home. Houses will be judged on creative use of lights, unique design, outstanding story and theme, and presentation. The event is free to participate in. Registration will run through Dec. 1. Winners will be announced on Dec. 22. Ribbon-cutting for Healing Steps: Noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 4. Come to Healing Steps Equine Therapy for a ribbon-cutting ceremony and holiday open barn to celebrate the unveiling of their new location. There will be a hot cocoa bar, photo booth, cookie decorating station and ornament making station. A short ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at noon, with holiday festivities to follow. La Center Christmas celebration: 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 4. Join the city of La Center as they hold a tree lighting ceremony and other festivities, like a coloring contest sponsored by the Lions Club. Pictures for coloring can be picked up at city hall. Battle Ground live Christmas music: 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 5. Join the Battle Ground Community Band as more than 40 local musicians perform some holiday favorites. Admission is free and everyone is welcome. It will be held at the Battle Ground Baptist Church, 1110 NW Fifth Ave., Battle Ground. 

Holiday party: Doors open at 11 a.m., lunch served at noon on Monday, Dec. 12. Join the Battle Ground Senior Citizens as they host its second annual holiday party, where Santa will appear. Donations are suggested but not required. It will be held at the Battle Ground Community Center, 912 E. Main St., Battle Ground. Chair based yoga: 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 14. Join the Battle Ground Senior Citizens as they host chair based yoga. It will be held at the Battle Ground Senior Center, 116 NE Third Ave., Battle Ground. Intro to GarageBand: 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 17 at the Opus School of Music, 414 Pioneer St., Ridgefield. Students will experience music creation through composing simple songs on the computer using GarageBand. It will include the use of pre-recorded and student created loops, while playing virtual instruments to create a track that follows common structure.  Students will learn collectively and individually using computers, piano keyboards, headphones, and possible live instruments. Bliss Yoga (Lewisville): 6 to 7:15 p.m. on Wednesdays at the Tukes Valley school stage, Mondays from 6 to 7:15 p.m. and Fridays from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Lewisville Campus gymnasium stage area, 406 NW Fifth Ave., Battle Ground.
