Due to dropping winter temperatures, the Council for the Homeless (CFTH) is seeking warm item donations for vulnerable homeless individuals. Access to items that combat cold weather is critical for homeless physical and mental wellbeing, a social media announcement by CFTH stated.
Most needed items include hand warmers, hygiene products, rain ponchos, tarps, socks, gloves and snacks, the announcement stated. A full list of items, and a wishlist, can be found online at councilforthehomeless.org/donating-supplies.
New and unopened item donations may be dropped off in person from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, at the Housing Solutions Center, 2306 NE Andresen Road, Suite A, Vancouver, the announcement stated.
CTFH, established in 1989, serves as the backbone of Clark County’s homeless crisis response system. The nonprofit organization helps connect homeless individuals with resources, such as rehabilitation, healthcare and housing, the CTFH website stated.
