Clark County Manager Kathleen Otto is seeking applicants for the Animal Protection and Control Advisory Board, which advises the County Council on issues related to animal protection and control services. Applications are due by 5 p.m., Monday, Nov. 25.

Three positions are open for Clark County residents. To apply, residents must represent one of the following positions: animal welfare, veterinarians and veterinary technicians. Chosen applicants will begin their term immediately, and end on Oct. 31, 2027.

The 10-member Animal Protection and Control Advisory Board meets quarterly at 6:30 p.m. on the fourth Thursday of the month. Meetings are currently held virtually via Microsoft Teams, the new release stated.

The advisory board reports to the Clark County Council at least once per year on the general operations of the Animal Protect and Control Program. It also makes recommendations to the council regarding measures to promote animal welfare and efficient animal services. Board members are also responsible for promoting animal welfare programs, such as animal licensing, the news release stated.

Applications and resumes may be mailed to Animal Protection and Control, P.O. Box 9810, Vancouver, WA 98666, or emailed to jacqueline.hoffman@clark.wa.gov.
