The Battle Ground Public Schools district’s saying of “Working Better Together” came alive during the dedication ceremony for the new Character Academics for the Marketplace Academy campus on Monday, Nov. 27.

“To the students, families and staff here at CAM, it is my hope that this campus makes

you feel valued and appreciated,” Superintendent Denny Waters said in his remarks. “Please know that this district is thankful and grateful that we have such an amazing school with such fantastic students, families and staff. This building is a way for us to say thank you for what you bring and give to this district.”

The new campus offers students and staff a permanent, up-to-date facility for advanced placement classes. The CAM Academy program has been through a couple of moves since the sale of the building the district had leased for the program since 1996. Development impact fees were used to construct modular buildings offsite that were moved to their permanent home on the campus next door to the Lewisville campus at 406 NW Fifth Ave. in Battle Ground.
