On Monday, Nov. 11, the Firm Foundation Christian School student body gathered with guests to honor the nation’s veterans. Troop 475, led by FFCHS senior Connor Van Dyke, presented the colors and led the Pledge of Allegiance. Sophomore Charlotte Jones performed “God Bless America” on the saxophone, and fourth grader Presley Ding led the audience in the national anthem. Pastor Jason Salmi, a Marine veteran, gave a short message, followed by recognition of over 60 FFCS family members, relatives and friends who have served in our nation’s wars.
In addition to the assembly, FFCS students recognized Veterans Day in their classroom activities. The hallways and classrooms windows were decorated with coloring pages and posters honoring those who have fought for freedom.
