Linfield University student-athlete and former Hockinson Hawks football standout Kenyon Johnson was one of 11 Linfield Wildcat football players named to the 2024 All-Northwest Conference defensive teams.
Johnson received honorable mention All-NWC defensive teams honors, the university stated in a press release. During the regular season, Johnson had 26 tackles, two interceptions and five passes defended from the cornerback position.
Linfield ended the 2024 regular season as Northwest Conference champions after a 34-7 win over Whitworth. A large part of the Wildcats’ success this season has been due to the dominant play of the defense, according to the press release. Linfield is the 15th-ranked defense nationally and led the conference with 34 sacks, 20 interceptions, four interceptions returned for touchdowns, 1,766 pass yards allowed, and 2,378 total yards allowed.
