The Clark County Genealogical Society seeks submissions for its Gallery of Grandmothers as it celebrates its 50th anniversary, stated a news release.
The release said people can submit pictures of their grandmothers from any area or era, past or present. Each photo should include about 300 words about their ancestor, including their name, date of birth and/or death, birthplace, where and how they lived, what they did, their favorite memory and certain personal characteristics.
Digital pictures and descriptions can be submitted to the Clark County Genealogical Society Library, 3205 NE 52nd St., Vancouver, or emailed to marcia@ccgswa.org. The library is open Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The 50th anniversary will be held at the library on Aug. 27 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The release said the event is also an opportunity to explore the library, participate in fun activities and talk to genealogy experts. For more information, visit ccgs-wa.org.
