The Battle Ground branch of the General Federation of Women’s Club, has formed a committee to help “backdate” the historical files on Battle Ground Lake State Park.

During a meeting in May, the service club learned there is no information in the park’s files about life at the park when it was a privately owned entertainment Mecca, stated a news release.

The committee is currently seeking information to build a collection of memories of the era.

The club’s members will assist Park Ranger James Donnellan with the process.

People with personal stories or photos from the era are asked to email them to bg.lake.histo ry@icloud.com. The timeframe to collect the information will go through Aug. 15, stated the release.

After that date, the collection will be given to Donnellan.

“Anyone emailing submissions will be eligible to receive a PDF copy of the completed collection, also via email,” Louise Tucker, the chairman of the GFWC-Battle Ground, stated in the release.
