The General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC) of Battle Ground will award a scholarship to one woman graduating from the Battle Ground area this year.

“Girls from any Battle Ground senior high school are eligible, which includes Summit View, River HomeLink, Prairie High School, or even the Family Resource Center,” Scholarship Chairman Leese Pohl said. “They just need to apply on or before the deadline.”

She added that the scholarship has been awarded for over 25 years. The student’s grade point average, financial assistance, and history of community service will be considered in the selection process, stated a news release.

The winner will receive a $1,500 scholarship, which will also be submitted to the GFWC Washington State Scholarship Committee for the state competition.

Applications must be postmarked by Feb. 1.
