Gifford Pinchot National Forest announces summer seasonal positions

The Gifford Pinchot National Forest began hiring for the 2023 summer season on Jan. 12. 

A range of positions will be open at the six duty stations in Randle, Amboy, Carson, Toutle, Trout Lake and Vancouver. 

Positions are available in fire and dispatch, recreation, trails and wilderness, road crew, fisheries, timber sale preparation and archeology. 

Applications opened on Jan. 12 and will close on Jan. 19 at 8:59 p.m. Pacific time. During this period, applicants can search for their desired position and are asked to make sure to select the desired duty location. 



Applicants can expect to be contacted in February or March. First effective dates for positions will be June 19. Positions can last up to six months. Most positions will have September or October end dates.
