Hulda Klager Lilac Gardens to celebrate 50th anniversary at Lilac Days

The Hulda Klager Lilac Gardens will celebrate its 50th anniversary during the annual Lilac Days event, running from Saturday, April 19 to Sunday, May 11. Visitors can stroll through the historic gardens, take in the beauty of blooming lilacs, and explore the legacy of horticulturist Hulda Klager.

The gardens, located at 115 S. Pekin Road, Woodland, will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults, and free for children 12 and under, a press release by the Hulda Klager Lilac Gardens stated.

Lilac Days will feature live music and themed celebration days, including:

  • Saturday, April 19 – Opening Day Celebration, Yuriy and Group perform at 10 a.m. and Fargher Lake Boys perform at 1 p.m.
  • Sunday, April 20 – Easter
  • Monday, April 21 – Easter Monday & Senior Day, seniors receive $5 admission.
  • Saturday, April 26 – Portland Sacred Harp perform at 1 p.m.
  • Sunday, April 27 – Royalty Day, Woodland Planters Days princesses appear from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Brad Dutz Jazz Vibe performs at 1 p.m.
  • Monday, April 28 – Senior Day, seniors receive $5 admission.
  • Wednesday, April 30 – Military Day
  • Saturday, May 3 – 50th Anniversary Celebration, Hollywood Ukulele Group perform at 1 p.m.
  • Monday, May 5 – Senior Day, seniors receive $5 admission.
  • Friday, May 9 – John Buck and Clay Dye perform at 1 p.m.
  • Saturday, May 10 – Hulda Klager’s Birthday Celebration, festivities begin at 12:30 p.m. and Madrigal Singers perform at 1 p.m.
  • Sunday, May 11 – Mother’s Day

The annual plant sale at Lilac Days will be available daily and offer a variety of lilacs, including starts and mature plants. The on-site gift shop will also be stocked with lilac-inspired merchandise, the release stated.
