Anglers took to the waters of the Cowlitz River on Saturday morning to catch smelt at the Castle Rock Al Helenberg Memorial Cowlitz Boat Ramp.
The one-day recreational smelt dip-net fishery was held Saturday, March 5. Fishery managers with the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife are currently evaluating if additional openers may be possible but no fisheries are currently scheduled, according to a news release.
