In loving memory of Bud Marsh: 1940-2021

Posted

On Thursday, July 8, 2021, Orville “Bud” Marsh, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away at the age of 80.

Known as Poppy by many Bud was born Oct. 16, 1940, in Butte, Montana, to Margaret and Orville Marsh. As a child, his family moved to Fargher Lake where he grew up and graduated from Battle Ground High School. On July 14, 1962, he married his high school sweetheart Rosalie Cochran. Bud worked as an electrician at IP Mill in Chelatchie Prarie where they lived and raised one son and two daughters. He loved with all his heart his 6 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. After the IP Mill closed, Bud worked in Longview at the Reynolds Cable Plant and in the IBEW Union. Poppy had a passion for spending time with his family, horses and anything his "kids" were involved with. Nothing made him happier than being able to be there with them, especially if it involved horses, too.

Bud was proceeded in death by his parents Orville and Margaret Marsh; and sister Joyce Marsh.

Bud is survived by his wife of 59 years Rosalie; his three children Jeffrey Marsh, Kari Marsh and Wendy Stevens; grandchildren Nicholas Stevens, Jessica Stevens, Rolf Hoefler, Trevor Hoefler, Jack Marsh, and Evan Marsh; four great-grandchildren; sisters Betty Brown of Colorado, June Loudin of Montana; and brothers Donald Marsh of Battle Ground and Ellis Marsh of Idaho; along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family would like to invite anyone who knew him to come to a celebration of life Aug. 7, 2021, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at 117 NW 189th St., Ridgefield, Washington 98642 with parking at 113 NW 194th St., Ridgefield, Washington 98642 (second driveway) with a shuttle provided.
