Posted

Dorothy (Dottie) Dean Finley-Judy was born in Wamego, Kansas, on June 10, 1935. She passed peacefully on July 14, 2021. Dottie was born to Cora and Frederick Lonsinger. After the family moved to Clark County, Washington, she was raised on a farm just north of the “Y” of Ward road along with six other sisters and two brothers.

Dottie was a EHS student and then became a dedicated mother of six children, five boys and one girl. She worked for “Waddles” of Jantzen Beach (where she met and married her children’s father) for 16 years. After divorcing in 1976, she went on to work at “The Crossing” restaurant until she decided to move to California in 1986 to work for a family member’s businesses there. Returning to Vancouver to live in 2005 with the love of her life Don, fithey purchased five acres in Yacolt, Washington. There she enjoyed gardening, driving the grandchildren around on the lawn equipment and other fun activities and family gatherings.

Dottie had a deep Christian faith and was an active member of every church she ever attended, working or supporting in many areas of service.

Dottie was a member of the “Sweet Adeline’s” early on. She was also the lead singer of a Country Western Band in Vancouver, Washington for several years prior to moving to California. In California she was a member of the Moose Lodge.

Dottie is preceded in death by her parents Fred and Cora Lonsinger; brother Jim Lonsinger; sisters Jean Hildebrandt, Phyliss Pruett, Marian Kirby, Joann Stimson, Ruth Robertson; and her precious son Michael Neil Finley.

She is survived by her husband and love of 34 years, Don Paul Judy; sister, Joyce Thayer (Walter); brother Neil Lonsinger; children, Russell (Janice), Joseph (Christine), Timothy (Barbara), Gina Jacobus (David) and Benjamin Finley (Christy), Mike Judy (Jamie) and Pam Hardman (Rob). She also left behind countless nieces and nephews, 33 precious grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, all whom she loved and adored.

Her love beyond Christ and her family was music, the Seahawks and Lakers and being her family and friend’s “Energizer Bunny.”

She insisted on no crying when she went “home to Jesus,” so a celebration of life will be held in her honor on  Saturday, Aug. 21, 2021, from 3 to 4 p.m.

A reception/gathering will follow the celebration at Charter Oak Community Church, 12112 NE 299th St., Battle Ground, Washington, 98604.
