In Loving Memory Of Jeffery Hawkins 1949 ~ 2023

Jeffery Lyn Hawkins, born Dec. 16, 1949, passed away on Oct. 17, 2023, at his home.

Jeffery shared 53 years of marriage with his wife, Geneva Dawn Hawkins. Jeff is survived by his wife, six children, 26 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren as well as one sister.

Jeffery always opened his home and his heart to lots of people who he also considered family, blood related or not. He loved his big extended family and took his self-seen responsibility to take care of them seriously. He counted these people as his own and never lost an opportunity to show them his love!

Jeffery was born in Vancouver, Washington, and passed away at home in Battle Ground, Washington. He attended Fort Vancouver High School, Big Bend Community College and Clark College. Jeff’s career path as a millwright led him to work for companies including Alcoa, VanAlco and Georgia Pacific, where he worked until he retired in 2016. Jeffery owned and operated Jeff’s Tractor business and filled his hours keeping busy with numerous projects for others as well as himself.

Jeff was a very active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. During his life, he held many leadership positions within the church. He loved participating in church choir and scouting activities and devoted his time teaching the youth of the church. Jeff jumped on opportunities to serve others and was first in line to lend a helping hand to those in need.

Jeffery will be remembered for his vast knowledge and experience in construction, wiring, plumbing, concrete, mechanics and farming. He was known for his love of good food and was an expert cook and grill master! Jeffery shared an interest in genealogy with his wife, Geneva, which led to many travels to meet relatives newly added to the branches on his family tree. Jeff and Geneva enjoyed traveling together and exploring new places. Jeff’s favorite hobby was fishing and he loved sharing this fishing passion with his children and grandchildren.

Jeffery’s wonderful hugs and whispers of “I love you”’ will be forever echoed in the hearts of those he has left behind.
