In loving memory of John Marsolek: 1964 -2022

Posted

John Charles Marsolek, 58, was born on Feb. 13, 1964, to Stanley and Bessie Marsolek in Vancouver, Washington. He was raised on a mink farm in Hockinson, Washington with his two brothers, Dan and Mike, and his three sisters Susan Dale, Nancy Lathrop and Pam Dawson.

Growing up, he was known for his adventurous spirit and love of a good prank. He graduated from Prairie High School in 1982. Following graduation, he volunteered as a firefighter for a time before moving on to work a variety of jobs in the construction industry. He was well known for his handiwork and always had a handful of projects going at a time. He married Tami Questad in 1989 and went on to raise eight children.

In 2002, he relocated his family to Tri-Cities, where they still reside. John loved the outdoors and he enjoyed spending time camping and fishing with his family. One of his greatest joys in life was being “Papa” to his seven grandchildren. John was always willing to lend a helping hand, and was able to make friends wherever he went.

He is preceded in death by his mother Bessie Marsolek.

He is greatly missed and survived in life by his father Stanley Marsolek; his sisters Susan (Ken), Pam (Jess) and Nancy (Mike); his brothers Mike and Dan (Wendy); his wife Tami and their children Katelyn (Matthew W.), Natasha (Alexander), Nicolai, Mariah (Matthew S.), Zachary (Lindsy), Tessa, Benjamin and Josiah; and his grandchildren Addison, Remington, Jackson, Penelope, Delainey, Annaliese and Valerie.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 5, 2022 at Riverside Apostolic Lutheran Church, 3500 W. Deschutes Ave., Kennewick, Washington, 99336.

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” — Psalms 91:1-2
