In loving memory of Jon Babcock: 1946-2022

Jon Babcock, 75, died on Monday, July 18, 2022, in Ridgefield, Washington. He was a proud U.S. Navy veteran who served in Vietnam. Jon was a firefighter with Vancouver Fire and Rescue for 31 years before retiring and served as fire commissioner for Clark-Cowlitz Fire and Rescue for 12 years. Jon enjoyed creating new stained glass pieces for friends and family and was an avid fisherman. 

Jon is survived by his wife Bj; sons Jon (Cori) and Kim; daughter Kate (Ian); grandchildren Kelly, Weston and Tegan; and brother Mike Babcock in North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Craig, and their parents, Claude and Pearl Babcock.

Jon’s celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. on Aug. 13, 2022, at the Vancouver Local 452 Union Hall, located at 2807 Fruit Valley Road in Vancouver, Washington. The service will be conducted by family and friends. It will be a time to mourn, share memories with one another, see old friends and celebrate the life of a wonderful man. Hawaiian shirts are encouraged.
