In loving memory of  Marcia Jorgensen: 1936-2022

Posted

Marcia Jorgensen passed away on Aug. 2, 2022, in her home in Battle Ground, Washington, in the presence of her loving daughters. She was born Marcia Darlene Jeffrey to Bernard and Faye Jeffrey on May 17, 1936, in Coquille, Oregon.

She is survived by her siblings Sally Kimberlin, of Maine, and David and Carl Jeffrey, of California. She is also survived by her daughters, Christa Rogers and Kari Ashcraft, 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Marcia was the first of her family to obtain a college degree and earned her master’s of education from Central Washington University. She taught elementary school in Vancouver, Washington, and there met the man she would marry, Jens Jorgensen. Their union was happy and blessed. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2011 and he passed away shortly after. She also worked for many years at the Portland IRS office but took an early retirement in order to spend more time with family.

Marcia lived in Battle Ground for almost 50 years. To say she will be sorely missed is an understatement. She will be held in the hearts and minds of so many.

Coffee and cake will be served in her honor Sept. 18, at Elim Lutheran Church in Hockinson after the 10:15 a.m. service.
