Paula Gabrielle Stephenson was born on Dec. 14, 1933, to Henry and Pearl Rotschy. She lived almost all of her life in the Yacolt area. She married her husband of 48 years, Ward Stephenson, on April 17, 1955, and they lived happily together until his passing in 2003.
Paula left this world surrounded by her family on Jan. 14, 2023.
She is survived by her four children, daughters Sydney (Tom) Kaski, of Yacolt, and Nola (Joe) McMahon, of Elmo, Montana, and sons Dennis (Kathy) and Gaylord (Carol) Stephenson, both of Yacolt; and one sister, Lark (Marv) Hersey, of Yacolt. She left behind numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, along with a host of family and Christian friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one great-grandchild, Evelynn Kaski.
Paula was a lifelong member of the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church and kept her faith as her most precious and treasured possession.
Funeral services were held at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church in Yacolt, 35303 NE Amboy Road, 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2023. A viewing was held one hour prior to the service. Layne's Funeral Services was in charge of arrangements.
