Robert John Zeller, 88, of Sequim, Washington, passed away on March 32, 2022. Just like he dealt with all experiences in life, Bob managed his decline with strength and grace and wanted to spend as much time with his loved ones as possible at home. On his final day, he was surrounded by his wife, Audrey, and his daughter Saxon as he quietly slipped into the arms of Jesus.
Robert (Bob, as everyone knew him) was born in Vancouver to Evelyn Hope (Hartung) Zeller and Asa Clive (Ted) Zeller on Aug. 26, 1933. He was the middle child or three and grew up in Battle Ground. He is preceded in death by his older brother Bruce and his parents. He is survived by his wife Audrey (Sledd) Zeller, his daughter Saxon Holt, grandchildren Abigail Holt and Lucinda Holt, and his sister Janet Shaul, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
In life, Bob was a teacher and taught for 36 years in the Evergreen School District. He then retired and continued to teach as a substitute teacher in the Enumclaw School District for another six years. Throughout his career, he continued to keep in touch with many former students and their families. His dedication to the teaching profession was admired and respected by all who knew him.
His family was his greatest joy, and he spent summers camping and fishing on the waters of the Puget Sound. Many games of cribbage and anecdotes about his childhood happened around a campfire with his smiling eyes and easy laughter.
At Bob’s request, there will be no funeral or memorial service. Instead, he asked that friends and loved ones remember him as he was in life: happy and full of mischief.
