Ruth Elina Marie Ankenbauer, 92, of Vancouver, Washington passed away Dec. 28, 2022, from pancreatic cancer. She was born Feb. 23, 1930, in Velva, North Dakota to Einar and Elina (Lahtinen) Karlsen.
On June 4, 1950, Ruth married Robert Ankenbauer whom she met while finishing high school in Kenmare, North Dakota.
Ruth was a lifelong member of the Apostolic Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 70 years Robert Ankenbauer.
She is survived by daughters Linda (Gene) Kaiser of Campobello, South Carolina, Peggy (Merle) Davis of Vancouver, Washington, Joan (Larry) Wirta of Thornton, Colorado, Jane (Jim) Kaiser of Madras, Oregon; son David (Tracy) Ankenbauer of Brush Prairie, Washington; siblings Lois (Leon) Allen of Texas, Milford (Donna) Karlsen and Joyce Klaus of Washington, and Victor (Kiki) Karlsen of South Carolina.
She will be dearly missed by her 20 grandkids, 97 great-grandkids, five great-great-grandkids and numerous family members and friends. She will be laid to rest at the Finn Hill Cemetery in Hockinson, Washington.
