Ted Bechtold, age 60, of La Center, Washington, passed away peacefully with his family at his bedside on July 2, 2022, after a three-year battle with prostate cancer. Ted lived all of his life in the Vancouver, Washington area and graduated from Columbia River High School in 1980. In his youth, he raced professional motocross riding a Yamaha in the 125 class. His love for motorcycles never waned, but his passion was fishing. When he wasn’t keeping his yard immaculate or working on his cars and trucks, he would be on the river fishing. It was his happy place.
Ted worked at Frito Lay for over 30 years where he met his wife, Darlene, of 31 years. They have two sons, John and Brian, and a daughter Melinda who preceded him in death. He is survived by his father John Bechtold, mother JoAnn Bechtold, brother Jeff Bechtold, sister Kristie Novak and nephew Max Hovell.
At Ted’s request, there will be no memorial service.
