At the recent State of the Union address, President Joe Biden stated, “Today COVID no longer controls our lives” and “we opened our country back up.”
Those statements are not an accurate reflection of our country’s policies. The United States is one of the very rare few that will not allow visitors from other countries unless they are vaccinated. To add salt to the wound is the hypocrisy that no one serving in Congress, or the legislative and judicial branches or their staff are required to take the vaccine.
There are also other exceptions, but an ironic one is the current administration will allow anyone crossing our southern border illegally to come into the U.S. without being vaxxed. All other major countries have opened up.
House Bill 185 was introduced to allow foreigners to travel to the U.S. without being vaccinated. Seven Democrats joined in with the Republicans to pass HR 185, but our very own representative, Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, voted against HR 185 to keep our country locked up. This has affected hundreds of thousands of middle-income jobs in our tourism industry.
It has been estimated the tourism business has lost over $90 billion. There are thousands, if not millions, of people that have families that are separated by countries and cannot visit, whether it’s to mourn the death of a loved one or to rejoice in a new birth.
Our Canadian friends to the north cannot visit their children and grandchildren that live in the U.S. All other major countries are traveling. Is it safe?
Does the vaccine prevent transmission of COVID? Dr. Rochelle Walensky of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has publicly now admitted that no, the vaccine does not stop or prevent transmission. Studies have also shown people that have had COVID without the vax developed superior natural immunity. We were misled by the catchy phrase, “trust the science.” Science is not final and forever changing.
Will HR 185 get past the Democrat-controlled Senate? Probably not. Many of our politicians took campaign funds from special interest groups and owe them favors. We need leaders and representatives for our district that are thoroughly researching and listening to all the doctors and scientists that are on the forefront of solutions, not just the ones supporting the popular narrative that may have a monetary incentive or bias to do so. It seems whenever there are millions and billions of dollars at stake, we, the public, get the short end of the stick.
It has been difficult for us citizens to know who to trust. We want to do the right thing and just want the truth. I am concerned Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez is out of her league when it comes to so many of these major issues facing not only our country, but also our world.

You speak of trust, but your party supported and ran the most mysterious, out
of nowhere, kool-aid drinking character they could muster.
What were you thinking?
"We're going to punish JHB for calling tRump out"
"We're going to run a candidate which represents the district"
"Joe Kent is trustworthy"

You are dead wrong or attempting to be misleading. Read the summary of the bill. It states that non-citizens entering the US by air must be vaccinated or otherwise attest that they will take public health measures to prevent the spread of the disease." In short, vaccination is NOT required.
