Letter to the editor: It’s nine months out of your life but a lifetime to another person

The real question here is not about abortion, but whether a woman wants to get pregnant or not. If the answer is no, then she should have the access to and intelligence to use any or all of the contraceptives on the market. The pill, IUDs, condoms, spermicides, under-the-skin devices that keep you from getting pregnant for five freaking years. And there’s always abstinence and tubal ligation. Even if you do get pregnant, no one says you have to keep it. Give it to one of the millions of couples unable to have a baby. It’s nine months out of your life but a lifetime to another person.
