Letter to the editor: Marie Gluesenkamp Perez will fight to get money out of politics

Posted

This is the most important election of Washington’s 3rd Congressional District. I have seen Jaime Herrera Beutler’s work in Congress as benefiting her corporate PAC donors instead of her constituents. While Joe Kent and other candidates still take corporate PAC money, there is only one candidate that does not and her name is: Marie Gluesenkamp Perez.

If we vote for Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, she has a plan that will benefit the working class, that if followed, she will be the second most progressive congresswoman in the state of Washington after Rep. Pramila Jayapal.

Marie Gluesenkamp Perez’s agenda:

- Stop the price gouging on oil and gas

- Raising the federal and state minimum wage

- Affordable child care

- Moving to renewable energy and fighting climate change

Other candidates that are challenging Jaime are against what I mentioned because they aren’t for the working class. They take corporate PAC money and are in favor of large corporations. Once Marie gets into office, she will fight to get money out of politics (something both Republicans and Democrats approve of.)
