Letter to the editor: School district levy important for Ridgefield students

Posted

Editor,

I am writing to express my support for the upcoming Ridgefield levy measures and encourage others to vote yes. As a resident and parent in our community, I believe that investing in our children's education is crucial for their future success and the wellbeing of our entire community. The cost of educating students and operating schools has increased in recent years, but state funding has not kept pace. Levy dollars make up the difference. Ridgefield desperately needs a new elementary school. After-school activities, special education, drama programs and staffing for nurses for kids is at stake. The district is asking for only the essentials to cover the gap in funding.

By voting yes on this levy, we can invest in our future and strengthen our Ridgefield community. Our children are the future workers, citizens and taxpayers who will carry our community and nation forward. We must prioritize their education and ensure they have access to quality teachers and essential programs and services. Together, we can create a brighter future. Please vote yes on propositions 12 and 13 this February.
