Letter to the editor: Students need more representation within our local news

Posted

Within the overflow of ongoing election news in our newspaper, I think it’s essential for several local news sources to get the insight of many adolescents in this area. I believe that a majority of adults tend to overlook young people’s thoughts, even though several people my age are informed about the news and ongoing politics.

Giving more kids a voice now will later enforce them to interact more with the community and politics as they continue to mature. By writing a letter to the editor, I hope to bring some awareness to this. I think there are several components in which The Reflector could expand on voicing younger peoples’ thoughts and understanding. Whether it be from simply promoting writing letters or featuring a page, I think that there are several ways. Overall, I hope that my letters allow the editors to consider this and hopefully allows some changes to come.
