Editor,
I’m amazed at the Trump rallygoers and followers wondering where all the hatred and violence is coming from after the shooting of Donald Trump by a registered Republican. They apparently aren’t paying attention to what Trump talks about all the time. They don’t remember that this is the guy who called his followers to attack our Capitol with the intent of killing our Congress members?
Do they not remember that this is the guy who wanted his own vice president to be hanged for refusing to break the law? That this is the same guy who wants to execute our military generals for putting the country ahead of his violent wishes? The same guy who asked his advisors why we couldn’t just shoot protesters in the legs? The guy who constantly talks about “taking retribution” and jailing his political opponents? The guy who urges his followers to punch news people? The guy who wants no gun control, even though being shot to death is now the No. 1 cause of death for people under the age of 18? The guy whose follower broke into Nancy Pelosi’s house and attacked her husband with a hammer? The guy whose followers planned to kidnap and execute the governor of Michigan? The guy who uses Hitler’s violent rhetoric of calling his opponents vermin?
Statistics show that hate crimes have ramped up greatly since Trump came on the scene. So, they don’t understand where the violence and hatred are coming from, huh? You don’t hear President Biden or democratic leaders talking like that. Biden has been preaching unity all along. To pretend that it is “both sides” is flat out disinformation.
