Cowlitz County WSU Extension will hold a Master Gardener program from January to June of next year. Training classes will be held every Friday from 8:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

Participants will learn about plant tips like composting, plant health, and how to identify problems. Classes will also focus on gardening edible and ornamental plants. Over 90 hours of training will be provided.

Free orientation sessions will be held to discuss expectations, costs, the training schedule, and to answer questions and pick up applications.

The sessions will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Nov. 22, Dec. 3 and Dec. 10. On Dec. 28, the orientation will be held on Zoom from 10 to 11 a.m.

Orientations will be held in Longview and an address or Zoom information will be provided at a later date.

Participants should only attend one orientation session. Those interested should indicate which session they want to attend by contacting Gary Fredericks at 360-577-3014 ext. 3, or email at garyf@wsu.edu.
