Political sign fire leads to minor investigation

Posted

An outdated political sign supporting Rey Reynolds for sheriff was set ablaze at about 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 3.

Squad 35 of Clark County Fire District 3 responded to the fire and arrived to find an individual attempting to put it out. The fire was quickly extinguished.

An officer with the Battle Ground Police Department said he would determine whether Washington Department of Transportation traffic cameras located at state Route 503 and Northwest 25th Street in Battle Ground captured any footage that might assist the investigation. The officer said the fire appeared not to be accidental but the cause remained unknown.
