Ridgefield First Saturdays Returns to downtown Ridgefield in May

Ridgefield will kick off the onset of its spring festival season on Saturday, May 7 as the city once again starts to host its First Saturdays event.

The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., followed by live music at 7:30 p.m.

“While our event is centered at Overlook Park, the excitement will be spread around downtown Ridgefield with the Ridgefield Garden Club Plant Sale at Abrams Park, an evening performance from Spanish Blues Guitarist Claude Bourbon at Old Liberty Theater, and special promotions at downtown businesses and restaurants,” stated a news release. 

The event will usher in a new season for the farmers market and First Saturday vendors. There will also be a craft station, a Maypole dance and cake pops.  

Here is an overview of what will be offered: 

9 a.m. to 2 p.m. — Overlook Park activities 

The Ridgefield Farmers Market and First Saturday vendors will sell local produce, artisan goods, and more.

Craft station - Participants can make a pool noodle pony and a flower crown. All supplies and instructions will be provided during the “make and take” event. It’ll continue while supplies last.  

The Ridgefield Art Association’s annual spring art show 

10 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Kit Garoutte, a singer, songwriter and “fingerstyle” guitarist will perform a variety of familiar favorites along with some original music. 



11:30 a.m.: The traditional Maypole dance will be performed by DanceFusion NW. 

Noon: Celebrate the anniversary of Ridgefield First Saturdays with a free cake pop while supplies last. 

9 a.m. to 2 p.m. – Garden Club Plant Sale at Abrams Park 

The annual Ridgefield Garden Club Plant Sale will be held at Bennett Hall at Abrams Park. 

7:30 p.m. – Claude Bourbon, Spanish blues guitarist at the Old Liberty Theater 

Claude Bourbon is a widely recognized guitarist who is known for his ability to combine a wide variation of musical traditions from around the globe. Doors open at 6:45 p.m. and the performance starts at 7:30 p.m. To learn more or buy tickets, go online to oldlibertytheater.com/events.
