Ridgefield will implement new speed limits on several key streets effective Thursday, Nov. 28, following a comprehensive safety study. The City Council approved these changes in September and October to enhance safety and improve traffic flow.
The following speed limits will be adjusted:
Pioneer Street: Reduced from 40 to 35 mph to align with its transition from a state highway to a city arterial. The downtown segment will remain at 25 mph.
Gee Creek Plateau Corridor: South 15th Street, South 35th Place, South 10th Way and South 25th Place west of Royle Road will have a 25 mph speed limit.
Union Ridge Parkway: The new extension from South Fifth Street to Pioneer will have a 35 mph limit. Future extensions from Pioneer to 10th Street will be limited to 25 mph.
South Fourth Way: Speed limit set at 20 mph between South 21st Place and South 25th Place.
Royle Road: Reduced from 40 to 35 mph between Hillhurst Road and Pioneer Street.
Hillhurst Road: Reduced from 40 to 35 mph between Royle Road and the city limits.
