Clark County’s recent COVID-19 case rate saw a fourth week of increases, though it was the second week where no new deaths from the disease were reported.
Clark County Public Health’s July 20 report included 14 COVID-19 cases per 100,000 population over seven days, up from the 13.8 per 100,000 reported the prior week.
The recent statewide case rate also rose and remains higher than Clark County’s rate. As of July 20, Washington had 17.1 cases per 100,000 population, up from 16.8 per 100,000 reported the prior week.
Recent case rates lag behind the most recent counts of cases. The health department’s most recent case rate was based on activity from July 4 to July 10.
Clark County Public Health tallied 61 additional cases between July 13 and July 20, fewer than the 88 recorded between July 6 and July 13. The county’s case total includes 114,266 confirmed and probable cases in Clark County since the outbreak began, although that number does not include at-home tests, which often go unreported.

With the latest numbers, the total of Clark County’s COVID-19 deaths stays at 1,056, which includes 906 confirmed and 150 suspected deaths.
For the latest data, the Washington State Department of Health is no longer reporting hospitalization data for patients awaiting COVID-19 test results. The health department’s July 20 report had 2.1% of hospital beds with confirmed COVID-19 patients in Clark County. No COVID-19 patients in intensive care unit beds were reported.
New COVID-19 hospital admissions stayed the same in the latest data. In its July 20 report, the health department reported 1.8 admissions per 100,000 population in the past seven days, the same as reported July 13.
Clark County’s share of COVID-19 cases stayed about the same in the latest data. According to the Washington State Department of Health, the county had about 5.8% of cases and about 6.5% of deaths in Washington.
